I have a bar with 20m lines and a bar with 14m lines with 3m extensions. I always use 20m lines with the 6m Peak. I use 20m lines with the 5m Peak at the lower end of its wind range and 17m at the upper end. I use 17m lines with the 4m Peak and will use 14m if I'm powered up AND I'm kiting in real waves. Shorter lines make the Peaks more responsive and give you more "feel" at the bar, but you lose some ability to generate extra power and upwind capability.

I use 18m on a 35cm bar with my 5m and I am very happy with that. But I only use it for snow, both flat cruising and ski touring climbing/transport. I thought the super short bar (to reduce pack volume) would be a problem, but I actually prefer that small bar over my regular 48cm.

20m on all (4m, 5m, and 6m)

Boring, I know, but I don’t think there is much overlap in kite sizes and I just size down or up to get more range. I might try shorter 15m or so) for 22 kn+ on the 4m but I just haven’t gotten around to it.

I use

27-28 m on the 8 m2. With 21 m std lines it doesnt really work IMO, not more low end than the 6 and it turns a lot worse. 28 m and you can cut the lowend 1-1½ knots down.
21 m on th 6 m2. Longer doesnt really help with lowend, as it turns fast and accelerate much better than the 8.
21 m on the 5 m2.
21 m on the 4 m2.
19 m and a shorter bar on the 3 m2. Have used 21 m and std bar, also working great.

Tried 16 m lines on the 3 m2 for a handful of sessions, useless IMO as you lose all range in turns and waves, and no advantages with the shorter lines.
In fact, this also goes for LEI's, really small kites works better with standard or longer lines - one can shorten them on the medium sizes if desired.
Quite opposite to what most think (for some reason I dont understand)
