Have any of you flown both XR7 and the Machine in 8m or 9m and is able to give a direct comparison? Wind range, upwind, speed, boost, loopability?

Bump! And any other head-to-head Orbit vs Machine experiences out there?

Hi Guys,
I've been watching this thread for over a year now and figured I should probably add a post to answer some of the common recurring questions I see popping up ....

I've got a 2023 slingshot machine LW 15m2 and f*** me - it pulls - when the wind is 10-12kn and everyone else is either at home knitting socks, or out on their surfboards with oversized kites, I'm still out there ripping 5-6m+ air's (disclaimer, I ride with boots and in the surf which helps launching off the waves)

I don't yet have a smaller 8m2 or 10m2 version, only the light wind 15m2 version - and am seriously contemplating getting the 2023 machine v2 in a 10m and 8m variation (Was previously going to get a pair of the north orbit's)- Based on the heights I'm pulling on the 15 I'm gobsmacked at how well it performs, it just seems to just generate it's own wind out of nowhere :pump:

Thanks good feedback! I am contemplating getting a 15M V1 on sale to replace my old 15M. Any feedback on the V1 15M would be appreciated.

I demo'd the v1 15m at the start of this year (and missed out on buying it) and it was also very similar in terms of overall feel of the v2 - tbh they feel the same - this one is definitely a little lighter, I've had this since July now (Yes I got lucky and scored one before they were released) and love the thing - during our winter on the east coast of Australia the wind is a bit hit and miss and this has been my go-to - usually we don't get days over 10-12kn's (unless there's a storm coming through) and the machine has not just been a session saver but actually made me enjoy kiteboarding when there's not as much wind given you're still able to actually boost off the thing in practically no wind!

Slingshot Website lists the V1 and V2 15m as the same weight 3.8kg. I was a little surprised when I was reading through the marketing of the kite and a new lighter material, but yet they list it as the same weight as the previous year.

I have had a few sessions on my new 9m Machine V1 now. I find it to be very similar to an Edge, possible with better low end. Great kite overall with excellent boost and wind range. The leading edge and struts are very thin, I inflated it to only 7 psi once and then it was noticably soft in the frame and it bow tied after a crash.
