why you say that, maybe it didn't backstall totally, it wants always relaunching. I would like a quite kite, super stable, relaunch, not heavy. Two years a go I had peak 13 super kite, but relaunch in deep water was very difficult, never successful in two years. The hybrid I think is the best for overall
The Hybrid is going to be much different than that Peak and be significantly less powerful. You can backstall the Hybrid for solo landing but it will not land like the Peak. The Peak is pretty easy to solo land because it just collapses while the Hybrid and its "beach ball" shape isn't going to just sit there. Plus with the description that you gave of your launchsite I foresee issues with bridle catching on rocks and causing more problems. Your best bet would be to launch off the beach but land it in the water instead.

You might have better luck getting info on the 11.5m on the Facebook group. I personally haven't heard of anyone using that size and remember. I HIGHLY recommend you fly some size of Hybrid before you buy one. It's not really gonna be what you expect.

Must say now, I agree with Adventure Logs.

In particular because you write "The hybrid I think is the best for overall".

It sounds a lot like theory or written words, and not because you have tried a smaller one, and want a bigger size now.

If you really have such crazy gusty difficult winds, yes it might make sense with a stable slow kite not being able to start early nor go upwind much, but super stable in crazy winds yes.

And you have had a Peak 13 m2 so you know it was a bit gutless, but worked great.

An 11.5 Hybrid will IMO have a lot less power than the Peak 13, probably corresponds more to an 8 m2 Peak.

Your 9 m2 LEI will most likely have the same or more power I think?

So still a bit confused about what you seek

Why not simply a Soul 12 m2?

Stable, relaunch easy, way more power and performance.

And if you want a lighter kite, you could also go for the praised hybrids like Marabou2 (or Airwave Alma) as they seem to be light and somewhat more powerful?

If you rank stability higher than everything else, then the Hybrid 11.5 could be the one for you, true.
But the cost is quite high (not in terms of money, but performance)

Hello
Arrived my new hybrid 11,5 I believe that I will have same power with 24 m lines but use with race bar 70 cm. I test next week if the wind will arrive. The kite is very light, I can't wait to try it

Nice, you will be the Guinea Pig then to help others.

Let's hear how it goes when you have had a handful of sessions.

Be aware that you cannot self land the hybrid kite incase you are alone on such a kite spot.
I saw some videos of people trying to selfland but it’s very sketchy and in my opinion impossible in case you want tot do it safe and without spaghetti lines. I could not self land my 3.5m.
Last year, I was self-landing my Hydrid 5.5 on a fairly narrow beach.
It is WAY easier using a Peak, but still possible.
I hook the lower front line on my hydrofoil board and then release the bar while holding that line.

This year, I will do the same using a stake with a hook on top.
