8 meter gk sonic hindenburg issue

I just got the 8 meter gk sonic and I left it on the preset setting. I took it to the gustiest lake ever(it is very small with trees everywhere) and it would hindenburg alot. I tried my old 2006 11 meter and it would slowly drop back in the power zone instead of falling from the sky. Is this more to do with the amount of material; 8 meters instead of 11 meters, or is it something that was a result of changes to the new kites? Will a different akpo setting solve this issue?

The latest Sonics seem to have the front lines adjusted a bit too short, which pulls the nose down a bit and makes the kite a bit underpowered.
I have seen this with a few 2007 Sonics at our beach.
This allows the kite to overfly you.
Move the back lines to the knot nearest the bar (on the leader lines).
This seems to fix the problem.
Can't understand why the factory is doing this, the earlier 2007 sonics were perfectly set up.

Thanks for the info. The kite was definately over flying me alot. It was really frustrating. I hope I understood you right. Move the back steering lines to the farthest attachment point forward and leave the center lines where they are. Do you have the names of the attachement points? eg. B-1 or B-4

Flyer51 is talking about the knots on the bar/ leader lines. There are 3 knots on the leaders. Move your back lines to the knots closest to the bar, this will give you more back line tension and much better control and stability.

No, leave the attachment points where they are.
The short pieces of line that go through the ends of your bar are called leader lines.
The outside kite lines attach to them. The ends of the leader lines have three knots, so you can lengthen or shorten the back lines.
All of the Sonics I have seen use the furthest away from the bar knot.
Change this so that you use the knot nearest to the bar.
