Dakitemon,
I think you used these:
They are intended to go under a pad and probably don't have enough
holding power for heavy duty use by themselves. Especially if you put a
lot of leverage on your straps. I do make bigger ones with 4 inserts and
about double the VHB surface area. PM me and I'll send you a set.
The VHB area on the
Surf-N-Skim pads and these new twin tip plates is
about 5 times larger and goes completely under your foot and they are
covered by the pad as well. We are going to offer a version of the
Surf-N-Skim pad with a plastic plate in bedded in the pad and under your
heel to help protect the board.
Inserts in the board and adjustable (non peel & stick) plates are great.
NSI has my
full plates and
sandwich plates for those applications. And we
are planning to release more versions that will fit the non standard insert
spacing that production boards are using. But if your board doesn't have
inserts, they're stripped or not in the right place; then my VHB mounted
products offer a solution.
If you call NSI you can specify a variety of different foam layups to get the
desired cushy-ness. The layup (with the white foam) shown in my initial post
uses a new material that is
very cushy. Those plates are working great to
absorb the high frequency shock from that 4.5lb carbon board they're on.
It smooths out the ride and lets you load up and store a great deal of energy
in the flex. And eliminates the jarring on the hard fast landings.
Flexy, fast rebound full carbon boards offer immense pop but you need the
right pads to make the ride enjoyable.
