Hello all....
I need to (or want to...) get a new 11 or 12. Prolly secondhand but maybe an 07 if the opportunity is there.
I have been a hardcore C rider for 3 - 4 years but would like to broaden my horizons by getting a sweet 11 or 12 that is a flat kite or bow kite.
The kite will be an all rounder. For bay and wave riding on a directional and also on a twin tip (128).
I am just an average intermediate rider, started back rolls and other basic stuff.... my previous quiver has been Raven 1's.
I have ridden the Crossbow 12 06 and 07 model and have not been overly impressed mostly because of the excessive bar pressure. Love the way they turn and fly though. I like light bar pressure and good power...
Let me hear the opinions out there. The GK Sonic looks impressive...
Aloha !

I now ride the Royal Eras. But until recently I had the Switchblade2 (2007) in 10+14 m2.
I am by no means an expert. But a Naish teamsailor where I live told me that in his opinion the Switchblade 2's were the best flat kites in 2007.
A friend of mine had GK Trix and liked them A LOT

If you come from an all C-kite background you probably might feel mutch more confortable with a hybrid SLE rather than a 100% bow. LF Havoc '08 or OR Rise Venturi come to mind. I am sure other manufacturers will have similar products.
Bows are great, I have been on them for two years now, but I would not consider them a universal tool. They have clear lmitations when it comes to unhooking and looping.
i hve swiched from my 11m '07 Waroo to the 10m LF Havoc '08 and could no be happier with tha decision. The Waroo is great, I still have the 7m one, but in the 10 t 13m range, the Havoc '08 clearly outperforms the Waroo in most aspects.

Raven 2007 in 12, if you are coming from the one, you will love it.
I still prefer it than the helix in 12 ...and the wind range is huge.

* world's greatest kite currently: Cabrinha Switchblade 3
Runner up: Royal Era (Faster turning but not as durable as the SB3)
* Biased review. I have a full quiver of Switchblade 3 kites and I prefer kites in 1:1.
