LF Recoil 2008

Postby Manix » Sun May 18, 2008 1:40 pm

Hello,

I m going to buy a Recoil (normal version), but I'm not sure of the size's board.

My weight is 80-85 kg , intermediary level, Carving and Freestyle Oldschool oriented.
The wind conditions that I often have are 15-22 knots. The kite that I use the most is my Fuel 11, but in 2-3 months, I will buy an Ozone Edge 11 2008.
My next quiver will be : Rhino 18 05 (for the light), Edge 11 08, and Sport 7 07.

Which size will be the best for my futur Recoil? 133*40 or 130*39???

Thanks for your reply

I like my Fuel, but it is Old (2004). :thumb:
I like the Edge, and the Edge has more range that Fuel. With a Edge, I go up wind in 14-15 knots, and I can keep it in 27-30 knots.

I know that a lot of people take the 136*41, but it's often to make only new school, and for this moment, I'm more Oldschool than Wake style...

133/40 or 130/39???

I also fly the '08 Ozone Edge 13M and 11M.
I tried the 136 Recoil, it felt to big for me
I bought the 133, and love the board,
(except in the surf)
I am the same weight as you 180lbs
6 years kiting.

As always, if you can, try before you buy.
Boards are such personal preference.

For someone that spends so much time bashing this forum you sure do spend alot time on it - Probably not the answer he was looking for... - Take it to the scoop with the G's and thugs

Anyways... I have the 130 and find it a little small in chop - The board rocks, but if you ride something other than flat water I'd go for the 133 or bigger - Also the comp is a sweet ride, its so much lighter - Really worth the extra $$$

Thanks.....

If I take the Recoil classic, it's because I have a really intersting price, but only on Recoil, and not on Recoil Comp.

Nab 1000, when my name will be Sylverster Ruckdaeschel, I will take a 136*41 with Escalade binding

I ride on flat, and chopy condition, but more often, in chopy.

I think that both size can be ok for me, but I'm afraid of the size 130/39 will be a bit small.

Thanks for further opinion.... :thumb: :thumb:

133 all the way...the recoil does ride like a bigger board due to the flatter shape.

I got the 137 and find it great as a lightwind board and in the chop but would like a smaller board to really load up in the flats..
