I just dropped the ball for you guys...I have a lot of pics, and I'll keep on putting them out here when I have time...it was just that I had the chance to actually ride the kites so the pics got a little shorted...

just let me know the day that the shop here gets the helix
I am going to get one
even if the color combo is black and orange
or pink and green...
(sorry to those of you who have those as your favorite colours)
last year you could choose between burgandy and white
or
burgandy and white
so
you can guess which color I chose...

Btw...I also most got this kite loop...missed the rider though, but you can actually see the direct connection on the back lines on the kite...

Been seeing those 09 Naish kites all week.....looks like they changed the wingtips this year....maybee they won't bend when you really lay into the thing like the sucky 08 model (lets not even talk about the worst kite of the year 2007...any Naish SLE!)....I was impressed at least to actually see a Naish kite hold air for more than 30 minutes.....it's a record!

So...have they dropped the Alliance then? It seems strange that you didn't see any.
Have the updated the Torch with GeoTech?

Nope the torch still has a classic C-kite shape. I didn't try it though...
About the Alliance...I am guessing it is not part of the line up...I think the Helix is taking the Alliances place. Although no 5th line, it is lower aspect, has a smaller bridle, and has a much more pronounced arc. It also has a direct connection on the back lines..of course this is just me speculating, but the feel is very direct and the looping pulls a lot more even through. It also turns super fast and tight.

I may be wrong but i thought the Alliance had a higher aspect than the Helix last year. (5 vs 4.9)
I guess they figure 5 liner will go for a Torch.
Geotech is the material not the shape, guess you would have to be looking for it to notice that.
Cheers,
Robert
