GK does a conversion kit that makes the bar like the 07 bar
Phone your GK dealer costs around £35

If the clamcleat is stiff or keep slipping give the depower line a really good wash out as if it gets sandy it will be hard to use and wear out the cleat really quickly.
There was a mod where you flip the cleat over, made it slightly easier to use. Another mod involved getteing a SS mickeymouse swivel, running a new line up to the swivel and back down again and using the cleat upside dowm, similar to the new Naish Smartloop bar.
I tried all these mods with my 06 Sonics - even made my own bar with different cleat and Slingshot stopper coz I didn't like the GK bar but the Best mod I did was to ditch the bar all together and buy myself a 2007 Best bar
If you go the Best bar route, You'll need 15cm ish extensions on the rear lines

The bar takes a bit of getting used to but with a bit of technique you can adjust the length of the front lines on the fly. Just ride downwind under the kite a bit with the bar eased and the pressure should come off. It isn't quite as nice as some of the newer bars though.

Hi, I've had a few '06 sonics and found the '07 bar upgrade to work fine, just need to ensure relative line lengths are kept constant, try the link below
http://www.airjamexpress.com/product_in ... cts_id=260
seems like they're out of stock but I'm sure they could get one for you
hope this helps

Hi,
I must have a mental block, but what do you mean by "bc" on the '07 bar?
I may be able to help you then!

ahhh, sorry, . . . . I'm not sure exactly what you want to know, but I have a Sonic Set Up instruction sheet that I found really helpful, see attached .pdf file.
this refers to the 11m sonic and the measurements worked for my 11m, however, the 8m and 14m were different dimensions, but the same principals; hopefully you have an 11m; note the back lines are on the middle knot of the leader lines and the centre line 100cm for full power, shorten for less power. I put a black pen mark at 100cm so you can see it when adjusting.
if you do get the '07 bar upgrade then you will need to measure the full power length of the centre line on the '07 upgrade kit, and if not equal to 100cm, then you will need to make the appropriate adjustments to the rear lines to keep the differential constant.
hope this answers your question!
