regardless of whether you think Kevin is promoting reckless behaviour or should be cut some slack, my greivance is with all the bowmos who posted in this topic that part of the blame was due to his using a C-kite and that a flat kite would've been safer.
it was the kiter's actions that were unsafe, not his choice of kite, and anyone who thinks the opposite is setting themselves up for a similar accident.

this just in...
according to our cub reporter ala, Jimmy Olsen of superman fame.
The turtle fancier was sporting a flat kite and was actually just putting on a little show...
He sent his "flat kite" for a bit of high spirited shore based loli-pop action. (got-a love the stoke)
The Rhodes Scholar scooting along the ground toward the Hobie cats; looking for a catch was the one clutching the bar of der C kite.
there's no roll models here...
and certainly no examples of how one might deal with a crisis.
I imagine our Rhodes Scholar now as flat spot on his dome from banging the top o' his melon...
a little help here please??? say, got a moment?, need a catch here...yo little girl etc.,
he's locked in, he doesn't dare let go to pull it...that's the trouble with going for the butt job, it locks you in, and you're now out of options, your fate is in the hands of a more or less unconcered third paty...
