Fuerteventura

Postby lemo » Sun Apr 06, 2003 10:31 pm

I'm planning a holiday in Corralejo for early July and wondered which hotels are close to the best kitesurfing spots?
Also, places of interest, night life etc.
Thanks in advance

Ok thanks, I've seen the video and it looks cool but where exactly is that kite beach in relation to the nearest hotels? Is it nearer to Dunas club or Riu Olivia hotel
thank you in advance

Lemo, the Oliva Beach Hotel is a 30 minutes walk at the beach to Flagbeach. You may only surf at Flagbeach and not close to the hotel -> swimmers only.

The Oliva Beach is a hotel outside of Corralejo with no nightlife and you have to take a taxi to the "city" which is not really expensive.

The Oasis Dunas? is in Corralejo and I'm not sure if it is in walking distance because it's more in the middle of the "city".

It depends on you: I prefer the lonelyness in the dunes where no more hotels are allowed to be built and when I want to go to the town, I just use a taxi.

I used to stay in the slightly expensive Riu Palace Tres Islas close to the Oliva Beach.

Hope that helps.
Robin

hello lemo,

I'm also going the first 10 days of July to Flagbeach.
I already have been theire 2 years ago for windsurfing.
Now I'm going to Kite. I stay at the hotel
Riu Tres Islas wich is rather expensive but very, very, ... good,
especially when you go with wife and children.
It's only walk-away (5minutes) from the hotel.
(splendid view from the hotel over Flagbeach and the dunes)
Realy recommendable!

greets,
patrick

Hi there Iemo,

I've been there to kitesurf a year ago, flagbeach is really good. I stayed at a hotel in town. Coz it was more expensive to go out and take a taxi back to the hotel (if u would stay in Olivia or tres Islas) then to take the bus everyday. Also car rental is rather cheap there (ask Ben, the owner of Flagbeach, he'll arrange u a nice VW at the lowest price)

have fun there,

Ralph

Hi guys,

I'm interested in Flag Beach too.
From a kitesurfing point of view I think it is ok, but since I need to spend next august holidays with wife and children, I'd like to know if is true that the water is quite cold even in summer for swimming: can you confirm?
Anyone spent holidays there with children?
Any suggestion about this matter?

Thank you in advance.

Ciao.
