hey Justin,

cuba is a good place to kite, if you are going to be anywhere close to the north side of Santa Clara's Province you should be able to find good spots there.

Also you are going to be close to Matanzas Province where Varadero is, this is the best spot in Cuba.

cheers

I was there in April 2008. Good spot to kite if youre not a biginner. Not the best in Cuba but very kitable. Beautiful water with some chops. The problem is the beach, very crowded and you have to be careful when launching and landing. You're in deep water very quicly so you have to be able to get away from the swimmer asap and not foll around close to the beach. Once youre in the water, paradise!!
Have fun!

for everyones info kiting in santa maria northern side of cuba was wicked. 7 days vacation = 7 days of continious wind all day non stop even windy still at 9-10 pm no rocks or reef to get tangled up in ...pure sand beachs and shores, busy at some points but a small walk up the beach fixed that. i met people from ontario there kiting on their 9-13m kites. i was impressed that it was windy all day and most of the night.
