So you have to pay 60 dollars to demo gear?

Yes, they need to collect money to cover the costs for the event. They have Insurance and other nasty things that are expensive. They do give you the chance to demo gear for 10 days, Clinics with pro riders. and on top of that coupons for party admission, food and drink.

Not a bad deal in my mind. I paid the $80 to compete in the events. I'm sure that I'll finish last unless I can con them in to running a superheavy weight division, but its going to be FUN!!

Yee Haaa!!! the Camper is on the truck and and the boards are loaded! I'm headed down April 16th so I can knock the rust off my water kiting before the events! Anybody got a good heads up on where to camp?

You can camp at Isla Blance Park(the jetties/fee), has restrooms/showers or directly on the beach(primitive/free/pay daily access fee of 3 dollars) outside of the city limits. :bye: :bye:

OK, cool thanks for the info in isla blanca- wasnt there an issue about the surf/kite access there a couple years back? , I've been google earthing the area and it looks like a lot of 4 wheel trails north of the flats, is it legal to go up that way? I was think just set up a little site and just kite in the laguna everyday from my camp, again thanks for the info.

David

PS Demo Days at Loveland or Keystone ski are is $85 Per DAY ( and thats for us industry types)- so 60 to demo all the gear you can for 10 days is crazy cheap

Yea, you can camp on that side too, no problem. No access issues at Isla Blanca, just be cool with local surfers etc. like everywhere else.....

Here are some pictures of our recent grinch sessions in South Padre. There will be two grinch winches at the SPI Kite Round Up. Set up in the channels, with the kicker and sliders for your jibbing pleasure.

a question for the south padre crew...

I have this crazy luck to end up in huston for a meeting which is over the 1th may, than I saw this e-vent and I thought to streach my stay few days and hit south padre during the round-up.

any name that I could contact to pose some specific questions?

it will be quite tuff to change the trip plan without get charged and I will have to leave the 6th in any case, it should be worth to come even if only for 5 days, isn't it?

kite size (60kg intermediate level)? 6,5 and 9 or I should add a 12?

big time...

Cheers from unwinded south sweden

I think it will be worth for even just 2 days!
The kiting must be awesome there and the event sounds killer.
