Tarifa_Spain_any suggestions?

Hi everybody! My name is Marianna, I am 28 and I usually go kitesurfing in Garda Lake, Verona_Italy. I am planning to go to Tarifa_Spain at the end of August and I would like to know if some of you have been there already...Is it true that windsurf and kitesurf are not permitted in the main beach Los Lances from June to September? Is the Valdevaqueros beach a good spot for kitesurfing? Where it would be better to find an accomodation ? In the next few days I should book flight and hotel otherwise there won't be any available next. Any suggestions or recommendations??Thank you very much for your help! bye

In summer there are some beach areas in tarifa for kiteboarding .

Levante is very very gusty , poniente is ok .

I would recommend you lanzarote or any other steady-winds spot to go .

Tarifa is nice for going out, the kiteboarding shops ... kiteboarding mecca . But sooo gusty and strong winds ....

Hi there.

I've spent a week there in May, staid between Tarifa and Valdevaqueros at hotel Dos Mares and was absolutely fantastic.
Prioblem is, i've heard from many, many, many, many people that Tarifa in July-August is borderline to un-kitable. Reason is, apparently it's overwhelmingly crowded, and i've heard stories of people being in line on the beach to enter...can't give direct confirmation, but you're definetly gonna be kiting in a VERY crowded sea.

In May it was crowded but still ok, i really can't imagine what that can become in peak season.

Crowded ? it´s off season so 50 or so kites on the water during the week is empty for us ..... still 100- 150 on a Saturday still ok .... just get in the water and ride a few strokes upwind and you´ll be fine .

Yeah it´s funny to watch ..... like on a traffic ( kite ) jam 10-15 kites on the air in line to get into the water ...

Yes .... but this happens all across Europe , Tarifa has 2 spots for kite allowed by the local government , 1) Los Lances for West wind or called around " Poniente " and 2) Valdevaqueros where you can kite with both winds but we normally kite there with East winds ( Levante )

Is the Valdevaqueros beach a good spot for kitesurfing?

Hard to say .... last year is was ( almost the entire year ) shit in terms of wind .... looks like this year it will be much better , Levante ( East ) is the predominant wind ( last year it was weak Poniente ) so even if the wind forecast says 10-15 knots in Valdevaqueros you´ll get 20 / 25 knots .

Tarifa is pretty full till Sept. 15 , but from that day on is like magic .... on the 16 th 70 % are gone .... like disappeared , wiped off .... and all beaches are free for kiting again ..... no more traffic jams , plenty of space .... I am already counting the days till the 16 th ....

I will go from day 16 ..... find empty beaches and better conditions
Although August is very good ..... good wind, good weather, girls bombom .....
fare is that it has almost everything.

I am already counting the days till the 16 th ....

Actually I'm toying with that idea as well... Is late September already low season in Tarifa from a logistic/accommodation point of view? Maybe we can enjoy the beach and save some bucks at the same time
