I have not ridden Lightwaves products but I have the Mako Classic (150X 34) and the Mako Wide (150X 40). My vote is for your conditions is the Mako Wide, either the 150 cm or the 140 cm. Hard to find used ones since they are new and kick ass in small waves and chop!

I have not tried the Xenon board either... True that isurfmag mentions in passing in their reviews of the Xenon boards that they can handle some chop. If you look in the same issue, the previous board review is of the Mako 140 X 40. Isurfmag spends two paragraphs explaining why the Mako board excels in chop.

I am not a pusher, just a happy Mako owner.

I agree with the Mako 140, I just got mine a couple of months ago and it takes a bit of time to adjust to a different riding style but once you get used to it is magic, especially in chop and in waves.

Slingshot Fuse Mutant Directional that can also be ridden like a TT for quick chicken turns. I bought one and after one day it is my favorite board for nasty chop. First experience out of the box it was both faster and smoother through chop that was punishing me on my other board.

I agree with the others...the Mako 140 is great in heavy chop and doubles as a great wave twin tip.

Don't get an 09' Naish Thorn. The thing is pretty brutal and unforgiving in the chop. It's got really good pop and has launched me into orbit, but sometimes I wonder whether it's worth the sacrifice of having such an uncomfortable ride.
