A request from all kite companies

One of the guys (Joe gutman) on the local forum raised the request.
We want pieces of fabric, the same type and colors of the kite to be supplied with the kite.
We also want a good fixing kit to be supplied with the kites.
These things cost nothing and probably lots of fabric is thrown away at the factories.

For as long as kiting existed, we all wanted what you are asking for.
My guess is: how would the company make it fair to all kiters, and put the exact amount, same shape, of material in the bag? Someone will always bitch about something. So, they just avoid the issue and don't put extra kite fabric in each bag.
Also, maybe it has to something to do with the import taxes, weight, etc.
Regarding the fix kit, there is kitefix, which was supposed to be in each Eclipse kite but was not. You want a kite as cheap as possible, well, extra stuff is not free, so....

What I think the companies should offer is spare material, but unless you fix your own kites, any kite repair shop has the material , so no need for us to deal with it.

If , where you are, there is no repair shop or material available, then it would be nice from the companies to offer it, maybe with proof of purchase, free of charge (+S+H).

this has always been a problem i have fixed kites for years but i was never able to get the exact same material... i always had good stuff but not the same, i think it is one of the lst things that is kite companies need to do to differentiate their product maybe...

2 of the kites i have or had in the past do this - Ozone and Flysurfer

I can confirm that Ozone in each kite put 3 pieces of A4 size kite material.
One for the leading edge and 2 for the canopy material in the same color as the kite.
They also give quite a nice repair kit.

Ocean Rodeo includes a bag with a couple of self sticking patches of the colors used in the kite, size around 15x15cm, plus a bladder patch kit (there could be more in that bag, never used it)

Bill Hansen mailed me a tube of fabric for my repair many years ago, was super impressed as I'm pretty sure he did it on his dime!!

But to solve a little problem I've just bought Kitefix. works great, but you got to buy some additional colors of dacron tape for perfect repairs (and if you want some ripstop tape in the exact colors for small canopy repairs (which also can be done with only a small drop of gluefix))

Ocean Rodeo includes a bag with a couple of self sticking patches of the colors used in the kite, size around 15x15cm, plus a bladder patch kit (there could be more in that bag, never used it)

We also throw in a little bag with spare pulleys, single inflation clips, single inflation tubing a some leader line. Not much but they come in handy.
