There is one person, which is the rider of the year for me:
Kari Schibevaag from Norway !
Why?
Because she is KPWT Overall world champion, and also snowkite champ, who recently won the Snow Kite Masters.
So basically, Kari can do it all, and for me is the most allround rider on the highest level possible, therefore my rider of the year!
- Kitesurf Freestyle
- Wave
- Race
- Snowkite Freestyle
Congratulations Kari, and keep doing what you do!!!

My rider for the year is my son , Daniel Kux.
Not because he rips more than anyone i've seen (which is the case), but because he has decided to keep kitesurfing as a passion/hobby and not as a carreer.
This has proved a great insight and wisdom beyond his years (17).

Youri Zoon. broke acl twice and came back riding in a way that really does make freestyle kiteboarding look so much better. one powered kitelow super fast mobe is worth 20 trapeze tricks in my book.

Gotta be the Worthing Pier Jumpers-Crathern and Scrace.
In particular for the exposure they brought to the sport, wasnt in the usual irrelevant to most, competition format.

ruben is no grom no more. I still say Dre and the Ossy crew of Sam, James, and others killed it! You don't have to be riding in contest to be considered the best. Free riding is the new PKRWhack or whatever it is.
Enjoy!

my vote would be for Dimitri... takes a lot of work and commitment to bring a brand to market in a short time span and do the demo/contest requirements to get the name out there.
