Screw valve has separated from bladder.
No replacement avail in the area. Is there a reliable way to repair using the original valve?

The screw/dump valve can easily repaired with Aqua Seal or Kite Fix Glue.
The key is to completely remove the valve from the bladder and clean the two surfaces of all old glue and wipe with acetone. Just gluing the edge of leak is not going to work as the rest will fail too.

I am curious to know why the valve separated. Did a front bridle line accidentally get stuck under the black plastic screw down ring, and rip it off? I have heard of that happening with that style valve.knot_moving wrote:Screw valve has separated from bladder.

Getting the glue off the valve was really tedious - took probably an hour of careful work!!
As to why it happened - I expect the glue just finally gave out from the little bit of torquing the bladder gets when tightening the valve and from the heat of keeping the kite in my trunk all summer waiting for windy days!
Bladder was about 70% separated from the valve when I took it apart.
