Wainman kites 2012

Postby boyceduke » Wed May 25, 2011 9:25 am

hi all, i have previously owned wainman kites, the smoke and boss and loved them both. I sold them last year and bought a different brand but have just sold these as I was not tht happy with them. At the moment I am kite less and the season is finally here. I want to know when Wainman will be releasing there new kite range for 2012....as I cant wait much longer and I am guessing many people feel the same. I dont want to buy the current smoke/boss only for it to be revamped a month later.
Does anyone have any news/release dates, product info etc otherwise regretably I will have to buy another brand as I cant wait much longer I am missing to many kiting days.

Happy surfing

I think they are finishing the RnD here on Maui now. I am not sure what time frame that means. Why don't you check into Globe Kites. They are better.sssshhhhh.

I read a cool interview with Lou wainman in kiteworld magazine a couple of months ago and one of his predictions for the future of kiting, is that kites will only have one strut. I just bought myself an airush one and very happy with that. It's a proper delta kite like the wainmans. Will be interesting if they come out with one strut for the 2012 range!

The Wainman Rabbit mk 3 is still under final development and things are progressing well but under wraps for the time being.

But I can confirm one thing and that it will certainly have more than one strut !!!!

Be patient good things are coming soon.

If it ain't broke don't fix it. With a few refinements tweaks and mods, the best things will come to those who wait. The biggest mistake you made was swapping brands in search of greener fields. The new sizes have been confirmed. Personally I'll always have a smoke in the quiver no matter how old, it wasn't voted best kite of the year for nothing. You can always feed your hunger with another size later down the line, I know I will.

Patience boyceduke,

They are just around the corner. The 9m Smoke is legendary.

I am patient but the kites were due to be released in Feb and according to dealers have been delayed to july/Aug, I was also told that Wainman may have financial problems as they are now apparently asking for cash upfront for pre-orders before supplying the kites. This dosnt really bother me I just want some new kites soon, the wind is blowing and Im missing out.....
