Hi,
I've already asked this on another thread, but I never got a "concrete" answer, and I did not find any relevant information about this on google:
What is the average wind speed in Punta Cana (around Club Med, so near Playa Blanca) (Dominican Republic) in February? What is the average of riding days in a week? What is the most used kite size (C-Shape, or bow) in February?
Thanks,
Thomas.

I was at Punta Cana Club MED in february ,
very good wind with a 10 meters, nice waves, green water( Carribean Coast), the beachs are more beatiful compare with Cabarete
I think that the Club Med has open a kitesurf Club.
Enjoy

I got there last year in February and i got 2 days in 7 days of wind for 12m kite.
It's not the best place in RepDom for KiteSurfing. Lot of people on the water (lot of motor boat, taxi boat and tourist small race boat)
Also the reef is small. Wave 3 max 4 foot.
See Cabarete or Samana for better kiteplace.
Take your bigger kite, if i go back at this place, i will take a 16meters kite..
Have a nice vacation..

Yes that is what I heard the most about Punta Cana, that the wind is not very good. I have a 10.5 bow kite, so I am really not sure about the winds right now...

Really? Did you have a lightwind board? Because I have a freestyle board, and apparently most people say the wind is not strong at all, sometimes 50% of riding days will have good wind in a week, and I checked the conditions of last february, and it says that the wind did not blow stronger than 15 knots..

The wind is not so bad, sometimes you need an 8 meter
I was with a 134 board, it was Ok
Sometimes, you have wind at Punta Cana , and no wind at Cabarete, but it s true that Cabarete is a better spot.
I just want to say that Punta Cana is a kite spot, and don't forget your stuff.

Yeah that I am sure I won't forget my stuff
and since Punta Cana has a kiteclub, it makes it a kite spot. Thanks for the info, I am just worried that I won't be able to ride with a 10.5m many times, or even not at all.

I spent two winters working in Punta Cana- teaching windsurfing at the Club Med. January and February were the windiest months of the year for this coast. We windsurfed pretty much everyday with sails in the 5.5m to 6.5m range. That would put the wind in the 15 knot plus range. I don't remember too many days when we couldn't sail those months.
The wind was always sideshore with flatwater inside the reef and small 2-4ft. waves breaking on the reef.
The only drawback I can see is the generally small width beaches and trees fairly close to the waters edge.
I would take some kiting gear if I went.

Thanks Burness, that really helps and reassure me, because I wasn't persuaded about the wind stats.
So if I weight 55kg and ride a 10.5m kite it's good?
Did you see often in january-february kitesurfers? If yes, what size of kite did they have?
