I know the cool thing to do is ride strapless and unhooked on a surfboard whilst wearing board shorts over your wettie.
But dammit i'm still loving me TT in the waves.
Some times it good being uncool. Then you can do what you enjoy. Not what others think is "cool".

I am sure I'm not very cool, but personally I have never been able to ride a TT in the waves. I ride what works for me.

My Fone trax turns like a surfboard in the waves. Ever tried one Taut?

there are some rippers in nz in waves on twin tips, something to do with having some of the largest and often messiest swells on earth.

Nope, I've seen people make it work, but I've never really made it for me. I am not sure Id unconditionally belive a TT could turn like a surfboard in waves, but it doesn't mean I have not had a good session in waves with a TT...just never found anything that have the rails and fins of a surfboard.
fone is hard to come by here. I had to order my bandit way back.

Thats an epic shot of Parks. I dont think a tt can sub for a surfboard, but at my spot when a nice peaks stand up in front of me I try to give it a nice klack if you know what I mean.
Lou rips no doubt on anything he rides. Make your own style dont copy anyone!

Its kitesurfing in waves rather than surfing with a kite but this is a nice looking wave twintip and it shows that style of riding. I like this video (you can skip the first minute).

Check out what Corey Brown used to do on a TT in waves. Directionals are and wave specific TTs are brilliant to ride and watch when used in their intended conditions.
