I met Dimitri for the first time at one of his demos not too long ago. His first question to me was, "What do you ride?" I answered and his next statement was, "That kite is shit. Take this out and tell me what you think." I took his kite out (Screamer) and unequivocally now know that he makes some far reaching claims. I am all for an individual believing in his product and wanting to promote it. However, to be dismissive about another kite manufacturer (one that has been established loooooong before his kites were even a thought) is a bit obtuse and disrespectful. At the end of the day I could care less of the kite name I am riding. I'm not a brand name kinda guy. I have very selectively chosen my kites based on what I want from my kite and the type of tricks I want to pull. The Epic Screamer I rode did not even begin to compare to my kite. The Screamer was slower turning, significantly more bar pressure (and not in a responsive way), choked out in transition (I tend to turn fast and hard) and had no where near the boost or float my kite has.

I'm not saying Dimitri is full of it but he did put me off with such a dismissive statement and it seems to me if you are wanting to promote your brand (which you are a reflection of) then it may be more appropriate to be a bit more diplomatic when making statements regarding the competition.

Guys. This is turning into a personal attack. Mr D has offered a trial day for those that want to prove/disprove any claims. I don't think you can say fairer than that.

Actions speak louder than words, so lets await the outcome of those whom except and trial them.

Now can we get this forum back on track and back to what it's good at: Friendly advice and plenty of stoke.

Cheers

P.S it's snowing in the UK so maybe some snow kiting at the weekend. :D

Let's go back to the topic of kiting.
I dont know enough about this kite to comment but I would be amazed if any large inflatable kite will stay in the air in a force 1, which is what is being claimed here. I think if you want to make claims like this you should back it up with the reason why it will fly, for example extremely light weight construction etc.
This is a great question Mr. UKSurf. For example the INFINITY V2 kite which is an amazing light wind kite has a hard time to stay up in the air bellow 5 knots. I have a video testing both kites, the V2 and V3 prototype in the air in less than 5 knots and the V2 had a hard time to stay up in the air. It actually fell twice during that test while the V3 was still up in the air in (2 to 4 knots) which is (force 1).
So to answer your question it has a lot to do with the light weight of the kite plus few other things. This is the reason why we use only 3 struts. Also the construction is an important factor but the most important thing is the perfect balance of the Biddle attachments points on the LE plus its profile and its Trailing Edge. Another reason why we don't have as many graphics on the INFINITY V1, V2, V3 is because we want to keep it as light as possible and we don't want to sacrifice the construction too much.
So all this put together gives you what we have now an amazing fun light wind kite. Why do you think I am not afraid to let people demo the V2 or V3 INFINITY or any other EPIC products!!!! Because I know their performance in light wind conditions + it has been proven so many times from people demoing them and from the videos.

Thanks, but I have been here all the time, I just can't bare to visit your threads any more.
Remember that I'm actually an Epic owner and can tell for a fact that your claims don't correspond with reality.
I was actually even an Epic supporter, but turned because of all Bullshit and your incapacity to admit flaws in your products.
Please be kind, go back to spam your own threads and stay there.
Dear Mr McAbe,
I'm not spamming you or anyone, just telling the truth.. You did buy one kite from us almost 2 years ago, and you bought it use from our EPIC Rep in Brazil. In fact, I do have in front of me your "invoice" that says: it was for the INFINITY v1 . I still have your personal e-mails telling me and my wife how happy you were with our customer service, the kite and its performance. The only other order we got from you was for some (Epic Metal Slider Pulleys), and by mistake you were sent by our shipping department the ("O" rings), which was a mix up that we took care of immediately. This small mistake seems to have really affected you badly and since then you've been attacking Epic and me. We've only tried to help you out the best we could. Hopefully you can chill out and enjoy some of those conditions in Brazil. Once again we can't make every body happy. Now if you think the INFINITY V1 was a great light wind kite, you should try the INFINITY v2 or even the V3 prototype.

P.S. Say Hi to our Brazilian EPIC dealer/Rep Dave for me.
This is what I am talking about, he is so full of shit (more properly called lies) and it just keeps coming.
He doesn't have a invoice with my name for an infinity, because I didn't by it from him, I might have written something positive about their costumer service, but only to be polite and threaten fairly, I was already not happy with it before the problems with the sliders that I ordered and I had already been criticizing him of the forum for a while (he did not know who I was then and I don't know how he found out).
I have NEVER written anything to him good or bad about my opinion on the kites performance.
This is the second time he discloses my name on this forum without my consent, last time he also shared our email correspondence with a third party, hoping to get support that he didn't get, he is truly living in a reality of him own, where he decides what is good/bad, right/wrong.
Last time Toby gave him a warning and had him remove my name, but he is obviously not respecting the rules of the forum and I expect Toby to take stronger actions this time.

It was very nice meeting you at the beach Mr.Brock Landers. And thank you for taking the time in demoing the SCREAMER (3G) model that day.
Once again we can't make every body happy. But 8 out of 10 that tried the RENEGADE or the SCREAMER models do find them amazing compare to what they have. If you are use to ride your gear and love it then it might be hard to change your mind on the first try until you get dialed in. For most people it happens immediately and for others it takes time. Plus I was using the SCREAMER 12 & 14 that day on 45cm bar to slow the kite down for unhook moves because these kites are way too fast if I set them up on the 55cm setting. This is why we use only one bar called the "XTEND BAR" which can turn from 55cm to 45cm in no time. But that day I forgot to put that setting back on the 55cm setting for the customers. Few days later I had other customers that tried the SCREAMER 12 & 14 and could not beleive how fast it was compare to their kite. One of them loved the feel of the kite, the smoothness and the hang time but did not like how fast it was. So again you can't make every body happy.
And with all due respect Mr.Brock Landers I never said the word "S@#$". I usually say "Try this kite and see the difference" or "Try this kite and it will put the other kite to shame". I never use bad language. I hope next time you can try the SCREAMER kite on the 55cm bar settings. Until then have a great time kiting.

Dear Mr.McAbe, once again I am sorry you feel that way but if you want to argue about this please email me directly and will send you these emails in order to refresh your memories. We do have your folder with all these emails. Also "YES" I had to share your emails with the 3rd party since he was the Rep who sold you the INFINITY v1 kite and he had to know with whom we were dealing with in case something happens in the future.
Any way this is not the place to argue about this and we need to leave this topic free of negativity. I will remove your real name so people don't realize who you really are. But so you know the reason I use my name "Dimitri M" is so people know with whom they are dealing with and that I am not hiding behind a fake name trashing people or companies around. I have nothing to hide, same with the EPIC product, you get what you see.
So please let's get back to "EPIC INFINITY & BULLSHIT LIGHT WIND CLAIMS" topic and enjoy the sport we all love.

Thanks for the information on that. I havent seen the Infinity since there are not many epic kites in the UK, but I have seen the Fat Lady which is also designed by Momi and that seems to be one of the best lightwind kites on the market so I am sure the Infinity is also good. My personal opinion on lightwind kitesurfing is you are better off buying a board like an Airush Sector and using your existing kite 12/13m to blast about at high speeds in 8-12 knots - it is cheaper and allows you to explore a totally different aspect of the sport which is better suited to lightwinds.

You are welcome Mr.UKSurf. I would love to send you the INFINITY V2 kite to demo and make your own opinion about the kite good or bad. Let me get in touch with my UK Dealers and see if they can get in touch with you and let you demo the INFINITY v2 so we can save some money on shipping the INFINITY v2 demo from the USA.
Now concerning kiting on the "Airush Sector" board and using a 12 or 13 meter kite in (8 to 12 knots) is also possible. I have done it on my Race board in (9 to 12 knots) on the RACER 11 kite, but again this is another type of riding style. The INFINITY v1, v2, and v3 models are designed to be able to do tricks while kiting in (7 to 14 knots max.) using a Twin Tip and not just go back and forth. So if you are looking to push your limits by trying new tricks and not get hurt in (7 to 14 knots) of wind instead of (15 to 30 knots) then the INFINITY models is a great kite for you because it has power, and most important it is a very fast kite for its size. Then once you master some of these tricks that you learned on the INFINITY kite, you can start doing them in stronger winds on a 14/12/10/9/7 meter kite. In few words you can say it is a learning curve that will prepare you for the next level in stronger winds.
