We are working on a new Foil with medium aspect ratio right now. Maybe we will call it PSYCHO 5.Will we see a Psycho5?

For foilkites for example one direction where’s much space left is towards higher performance. Performance means lift to drag ratio (=upwind, speed...). The Speed at the moment has around L/D 7, we already build paragliders in our paraglider section (www.skywalk.info) with L/D 10. So this is possible, but the Speed is orientated also very user friendy and easy to fly. Such a high performance foil will be hard to fly for sure. And will cause production costs similar to a paraglider.Life_is_Awesome :In your opinion, what are the main areas for foil improvement? How about for inflatables?
A high performance high AR kite like the Speed3/4 works better in lightwind. So this is the kite to choose for lighter winds in our portfolio. Therefore we will not add any bigger Cronix sizes.Poacher : Any plans for some bigger, lightwind sizes for the Cronix?
15m or 16m maybe?
We’re currently working on several different concepts, but we can’t say yet how far we can push the concepts. So far our high AR foilkite prototypes are still best at hangtime.TeabagVic - On the inflatable side (for the future) do you guys think it would be possible to create an inflatable that has the same big air characteristics and floatation as the Speed3 or it would be physically impossible?
We’re working on a fast directional board which in optimised towards lightwind riding, damn fast speed, and still easy to ride through jibes and tacks.Calvin_1 : Any plans to some wave or skim or directional fun board (e.g. comparable to north nugget) (preferably with split option)?
Out splitboard was developped in cooperation with Nobile, both boards will be released at the same time. The zigzag connection is very similar, we have one more zigzag for a smoother force distribution. We don’t want to affect the flex of the board, so that it rides 100% like a normal kiteboard.Calvin_1 : What are the pros and cons between the split option of the nobile boards and your approach (more teeth in flysplit)
Really interesting !Aeroandi wrote:For foilkites for example one direction where’s much space left is towards higher performance. Performance means lift to drag ratio (=upwind, speed...). Within inflateables, we just started now with the Cronix to adjust the airfoil during flight. We have also a patent on this. Every sailor trims his sail, and also every airplane wing does it via flaps.
So we will see how far we can go with this technology.
But we are also working on several other concepts. We will see, what works best, will go into a serial product. The rest not of course.
Viron will be continued. The Psycho with a bit Unity is planed to get into one product with medium AR. We have more foils and other concepts in research.Which foil kites will get an update or will be abandoned (unity, psycho, viron)
Thanks for the suggestioncalvin_1 wrote:What about a 13.5 Speed 4? Perfect size to combine with 8 and have a 2 kite range
