Everything is still work in progress. The wood is 4 inch bamboo flooring from homedepot.
Planed down to 10mm it depends on the Span, adjust accordingly.

Now you are talking! This is great work.
Thanks for sharing.
One question, you have Carafino board I guess with full set of foils, what made you to make yours one?
How do you compare yours with Cafafino's one?

I just wanted to try different materials and shapes to see if it will be more stable or faster.
Lately there has been no wind( under 5 knots), so hard to compare, will do full report after more testing.

what kind of wood do you use for the vertical and horizontal structures?
is the dimension based on testing, or just a guess, or an analogy to the carbon strucutures we see on the market?

keep up the great work, really interesting to see your findings :thumb:

The wood for the T bar is made from Hawaiian Koa Wood. The same wood that made the Canoe that navigated thru out the Pacific Ocean. The dimensions are by trial and error. The first one was made with Oak from homedepot, and was too weak. This is a more robust unit. It is stronger than the MHL lift in rigidity and twist but not as strong as the 2008 Carafino or Rush Randle Aluminum foil board.

Hawaiis,
Love all of your hydrofoil posts and Vimeo videos, keep them coming.
Would you mind sharing the dimensions of your front and rear wooden hydrofoils?
I have John's blue RR board.
Mahalo,
Bric
