that is such a great and hilarious question. people discount used kite gear so ridiculously, and are so concerned about little holes in the canopy that a piece of tape fixes perfectly.

didnt look at the link but i am generally always amazed at how cheap people sell barely used excellent kite gear. i wouldnt worry about a pin hole or two, probably caused by a strut clip. tell em you;ll take it but need to have the whole panel replaced (obviously) so take another 100 off, then put some tape on it and never worry about it again.

proper tape is important: stretchy sticky tape like tear aid type a or bladder tape is really best imo. tape from the inside (and outside to if you want, but not really necessary)

holes in the LE are different.

my used kites dont have pinholes i dont mention tho.

Okay I'm gonna say that is certainly larger then a pin hole. Very easily repaired but I would not sell a kite in that condition without sharing at least a photo. I think you are entitled to 10% of the cost.

ok i looked at it too. definitely a little bigger area of minor damage than i had in mind too. maybe from board edge or fin or something.

i would still just tape it and not worry about it.

unless I was willing to ship the kite back and erase the whole deal, I would just put a bit of tape over it and move on. It isn't a leading edge or strut and would really not be noticeable with tear aid on it.

"in perfect working order with no pin holes, repairs or damage of any kind"
This obviously is not what the buyer received. So I disagree.

I bought a kite with "3 pinholes" in it; saw the photos... fine. When I got the kite, I found 23 other pinholes  It got inch-and-a-half rounds of TearAid all over the canopy now. I was kinda annoyed cos I paid a fair price but not annoyed enough to say anything :D

The big problem is that it makes the kite difficult to sell on. One or two holes I don't mind, but 26? Hmm, guess that kite will end it's days as a jacket...

The seller agreed to $75 so I think that's fair. Every man has a price that makes the pain of a pinhole go away :remybussi:

I think that is very fair, and I also think this hole is small enough to do the super glue trick.
Dab a little super glue on one side and leave it sit for twenty minutes, then do the same on the other side.
Sometimes I've done it twice on each side.
The kite is normally good to go then, without a patch.
Works for the small holes.

I don't even worry about taping pin holes. I just put some gluefix on them to help fill them in and give them some structural support as long as they are in the confines of the ripstop threading.
