just another wonder treat for your kite gear.

if this stuff is less viscous and sticky it will attract the sand and eventually wears the line.

and if this stuff is hard and not sticky it will crumble out of the lines soon because line is contracting and expanding constantly while in use.

so why do i need to use this snake oil?
worthless in my opinion...

In defense of the line wax idea, I see wear areas on my lines where they cross and rub together after looping the kite...too much of that will definitely shorten the life of the lines. Non-withstanding the dirt/sand attraction problems, lubrication where they rub can't hurt.

Before waxing, I'd just try dry lubricant. Unwind all your lines into a (sorted) pile and spray the entire mess with McLube marine dry lubricant. It's the same stuff you can put on your CL, swivels and pretty much is made for anything that rubs against something else in a marine environment.

Give it a try and see if that gets rid of your wear where the lines contact during loops.

That said, whenever I get a new bar the lines are nice and stiff and have a waxed feel to them. I just figured they weren't broken in (factory fresh feel). ?

Anyway, be curious to see how this product progresses. I'm sure somebody needs it, but for me, it's an invention to solve a problem I didn't know we had.

I made this purely for my own purposes as I have had problems with my depower rope fluffing and my front lines wearing from looping.
I have used it now for a couple of years and had good feedback from my local kiters who have also used it, and thought it would be a useful product at a reasonable price for whoever may have similar issues with their ropes as myself.
I understand there are lots of other products out there which people use eg McLube and also there are kiters out there who don't feel the need for this product or others like it, however, this has been great use to me. Thank you for your imput.

You bring up a good point...it may not be for everyone, but if it is for someone, you already did the hard work to develop a product.

I am waxing my lines for a long time now and never had a sticky sand problem. I used the rather hard candle wax which worked great for me....

I wax the CL for sure as this sees the largest wear if you dont wax it. Then also the lines but only up to the crossing point where the rub if you loop your kite.

i also enjoy
this new kite/bar/lines waxy feel. but it disappears quite fast. after ten or so sessions it is gone...
