I just did a fly over (love google maps) . West coast of Australia has many spots that this could be. Assumming Westozzy lives in western Australia. My first guess is Peel inlet, Harvey estuary, Wilson inlet, Princess royal harbour, Irwin inlet, Hardy, lake Preston, lake Clifton. The north west looks very remote.

As an American, I have no problem seeing out of my own world. I have lived abroad, and visited several countries. Its just that the world in the photos looks
just like my world, and I can see it just fine!

Christ read my username for a clue. Lol. Florida ha ha ha never even been there. Sure it's nice though.
If using that small bit of shoreline it's a upwind setup.
If we use the grassed area it's a downwind or cross wind setup.

Flight time if ya ever in this part of the world drop me a line bud and I will show ya around.
Although when I had Yankee visitors my only stipulation is they sit and watch the castle (an Aussie classic) while eating lamb chops and drinking Aussie beer and if they don't find it funny then I don't take em kiting. Lol!

Both ways work. In our school we teach the students to set the lines always downwind.
1. It is easier to see the bridles are easier to connect to the correct line
2. The Kite is fully out of the power zone. Setting the lines upwind the kite is placed in the center of the power zone so if a student does a wrone move picking up the bar and pulling a line it might happen that the kite starts flying.
