Do you have any interest in compatibility on Blackberry 10 devices?

I have two of these meters, one works and one does not. Tested on iPod touch Gen4 and on a Blackberry Z10 with the android app sideloaded.

Haven't tested on Z30 yet but I will.

As far as test criteria what are you after? On both my iPod touch and Z10 one of the meters is reliably detected, the other meter is rarely detected. Swapping meters between devices, the symptom follows the meter, not the device/phone.

Other than detection, what app features would you want tested? I have no means to verify the validity of the windspeed readings...

Hey jsquid yes sure. I was unaware that Blackberry phones could run Android. I can add you to our beta test list. PM me your email address. We can work out some testing and I can also set you up with a comp account to ikitesurf.com. Thanks for helping out, looking forward to hearing from you.

Disappointed that it doesn't work on samsung note 2. Happy to be beta tester when you get a new edition.

Best way to test it is with a fan and another wind meter side by side

What say ye guys? Will Apple abandon the headphone jack?

Its a dick move from a large company when there are so many businesses designed around it.

"for headphones which connect using the company’s proprietary Lightning port instead of the standard 3.5mm jack."

Cuz that's really what devices need..............a proprietary headphone jack. Unreal. Can Apple shoot themselves in the foot any worse than they already have? I think this will do it.
Reason # 4,109 to give Apple the finger.

It is possible but very unlikely, regardless we are prepared to address this. In fact, I started working on a solution for his August of last year. Some updates for everyone, there is a new version of the app in the iOS store, Android to follow suit soon. A few small fixes and we have full integration with our other apps now. When you post an onsite report you can now see other reports that are relevant to you nearby. For example, if you are a kiter in most cases you dont care about fisherman inland who are posting reports - so we push users to the iKitesurf branded app where the map is readily available for viewing those relevant reports. Check it out, let me know what you think.. feedback is always welcome.
