Where to kite in the george this time of year

Im planning on taking a last minute kite-trip to the george. could somebody please help where is the best wind this time of yearand what city to stay near ?? thanks

I'm assuming you mean the Gorge, as in the Columbia River Gorge. Fly to PDX, rent a car, drive to Hood River. Generally the easiest spot to ride is the Event Site right in front of Hood River, but there are spots within an hour drive East and West through the Gorge depending on the weather that day. Check www.thegorgeismygym.com for your day-of forecast on where to ride. Bring small kites.

You could also stay in Stevenson on the WA side, good launch there as well and it's slightly closer to PDX, but if the wind is out East it'll make getting there a little harder.
