Hello kiters,
I think the best place in the world for long dowinders is northern Brazil.
Other than that, where in the world?
Constant wind, no freezing water (for safety), and open beaches.
What hazards?
Thanks in advance
Andre

Zansibar, Tanzania is very pleasant. But, yes, Northern Brazil is great.

I did a 30 km downwinder this year in Mui Ne, Vietnam. Windy almost always! Its also possible to do much longer runs of over 200 km. My knees dont like it though. Perhaps on a hydrofoil.

The other Melbourne in Florida...
South Florida beaches are pretty open all the way from Palm City down to Fort Lauderdale. Water temps stay in the mid 70's and air temp can be anywhere from upper 50's to low 80's.
The have done a big downwind race from Jupiter to Fort Lauderdale in years past. Don't know if it's scheduled for this year.

Florida coast on a SE or NE (including the Keys).
How about South Africa? Should be amazing too.
Egypt should also be good for it. I know they do downwinders in Ras Sudr.
They also want to organize a huge record downwind from El Gouna.
In Colombia a guy did a 6 hr downwinder...must be epic too, since you will find lagoons and waves (2m maybe). Start in Barranquilla or further north, then end in Cartagena.
Or start from Cartagena and end on of the islands (this direction you will find nicer water colors).
