I've decided to try a splitboard for snowkiting (and freeriding) it seems to me like the best solution to avoid carrying snowshoes while kiting and a board on my back while walking on snowshoes in deep powder…
As we don't have yet dedicated snowkite splitboards, I need to look into regular splits. Main issue is that most of them are freeride rippers hence directional boards. The only true twin seems to be the LibTech Travis Rice but is a banana rocker and with magnetraction, don't think it'll work as a snowkite board. Sidecut is also another issue, snowkite boards usually have a massive 20m or so while free ride boards range approx from 7 to 9.
I'm not keen on the diy split kit, rather get a more durable and better built board.
Any suggestions are much appreciated

Hi!
I don't have experience yet, but I think that furberg snowboards could have some nice splits to do the job.
Also I think Jones snowboards used to have a twin splitboard, but I didn't find twin model in their new line.
I'm also considering to buy split for kiting and freeriding without kite but so far I have used only solid boards and snowshoes. Please share your experience if you deside to go for it!

I'll try my best not to tell you to just switch to AT skis for real mobility. Oops, sorry, just did it.
Senor parker has a split board set up that seems to work real well for him on our backcountry adventures. Maybe it's a Jones? Perhaps he'll weigh in.
Oh man I can't wait for winter!

Can't find the furberg but found a sweet Prior AMF in the meantime.
I know skiis work better than boards on a snowkite, but I need to stick to boards due to my knees

A couple options:
Jones Mountain Twin. I've been on this board for two seasons. Much better than fighting a directional board half the time. Jones appears to have discontinued this model, but I'm sure you could find one out there.
Venture Zelix. Another sweet looking twin tip. Venture makes very durable boards. A plus with snowkiting.
Can't go wrong with either board.

Take a look at Never Summer, longest warranty in the bizz and their boards are tough. They have a couple split boards and one in the SL. I have the regular SL and no complaints, previous board was their EVO and no complaints there either. The SL is an all mountain board. I just peeped at the Prospector split and that looks like a good choice too.

The Jones Mountain Twin would have been my choice but is no longer in production or available, at least in Europe and in my size.
Gone for a LibTech Travis Rice Pro. It's a true twin shape loaded with magne-traction and rocker profile
It looks like a freestyle board dedicated to powder.. very interesting! Can't wait to try it now.. will post a review in winter

Snowkiting with splitboard.
Soo yeah, this is my first season using the splitboard to tour out into new zones.
I’ve got the Travis rice twin that is mentioned above.
But with size 12 feet, I need to find a wide ASAP.
THE JONES MOUNTAIN TWIN 161w is next on my list.
Anybody got one for sale? new or in good condition.
Or, am I going to have to take the saw to my 161w FLOW
Once you have gone split, it’s hard to go back.
I can now access areas previously that either required perfect conditions or way too much effort.
Game changer.... just need a wider board now so that I’m not compromised with overhang.
