Best TS 2015 Vs. Naish Pivot 2015

Postby andrewb44 » Wed Dec 10, 2014 9:50 pm

I love jumping and wave kiting. I'm looking for a new kite that excels in these two areas (assuming they are not mutually exclusive.)

I'm considering the Best TS 2015 versus the Naish Pivot 2015. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Andy

I use the Pivot. I cannot compare as I have not ridden the Best TS, but I can say the pivot just excels in everything I throw at it. I cannot imagine anyone not liking that kite.

Good power in the low end, incrdible high end, fast turning, even for side on and onshore conditions..it drifts like crazy and is just a lot of fun. To me its killer jumping with fantastic hangtime is a bonus.

If I were to point out a "weakness" it be it does not pull like a Torch while looping..but for people like me who isn't looking for that pull during loops its just another great thing about the kite. :thumb:

What you are asking is essentially the pivots design focus, not the best TS. The best TS is an all rounder based more on the 'C' side of the spectrum.

Pivot without a doubt.

Ive flown the TS throughout the years since it first came out in 2011. It has come along way over the years but even so, It doesnt compare to the Pivot in any form.

After 42 days spent in the Maui water with the Pivot I can say that this kite really rocks. It is stable, powerful and excellent in waves both strapless and strapped. Lift and hang time are also great. I was on Parks since they were put on the market and I've found them better only for unhooked tricks.

The Pivot upper end is what impressed me more because It doesn't reduce the low end at all. So I'm very happy with It and I think is one of the best Naish kite ever.
Cheers
Carlo

Pivot is hands down one of the best kites on the market at present! like all of the above comments i can also confirm all of tautologies comments even here in the Gusty UK conditions the kite is incredibly stable.. it soaks up gusty wind like a dream. We have 12m,9m and 7m Here on Demo at fcwatersports in poole. so if your reading this from UK give us a call. I think Naish are about to have a bit of a comeback, as the products all look fantastic for 2015. I can't comment on current best gear but you can't go far wrong with Naish! after all its one of the godfathers of our beloved kiteboarding.

Given my experience with Best, go Naish. Design wise the TS is an open C design and is NOT the top of its class (look at the f-One Bandit or SS RPM). But if wave riding is that important to you, the Pivot may well be what you are looking for. So if those are your two options, go Naish Pivot.

I have the TS and although it is fine on the wave - mine is an 8m it doesn't sit back in the window and drift as well as the Cabo wave (which I have in 6m)
Both jump quite well but I too am looking for a bigger kite for jumping and waves and am looking to switch brand for the Pivot 11m
