Wow, thanks for the heads up. I will make my home made foils with rounded edges.

worst injury for me was a month ago.
just performing a water surface gybe shuffling my feet and misfired myback foot by not getting pinky toe into foot strap.
thought I broke my toe at first but after walking back to the car, it felt much worse than a broken toe.
turned out the head of the metatarsal was snapped off and displaced. strange how such a small insignificant injury can potentially sideline one for the whole summer

Hi

The idea to make molds for a foil. I am kiting since 2000, the dark age's and I never had a board I have not build myself.

But I can tell you this is a story you need balls like ones ringing in big ben tower london.

Status as per today, 90 percent of the molds finished, no parts yet, no board and the plan is take off to France on the 16th of July.

Sounds like a tight time frame. We will see.

About injury's none yet beside construction / brain headaches but I am prepared for the worst when it comes to ride.

tks

Kosta

hahaha no shit +1

Although I think I've become the master at bailing from my foil. My buddy has me almost convinced to foil strapless but I keep my straps sooooo loose it's like not having them and whilst I'm still learning they give me a layer of security/tranquility.

I really think strapless or just a front foot hook is the way to go especially while learning, just yank the bar to full power and get lifted away from the foil, this has now become a natural/ instinctive reaction for me and I think has prevented further injuries, I also like the freedom of strapless, If you are going to race or jump then straps become important but by then experience should allow you to deal with them. Of course there is always the unavoidable instances.
That toe looks really painful , hope you have a speedy recovery.

the injury I sustained could have easily happened on any strapped board. yeah strapless foiling would ultimately be less prone to experiencing injuries like this one, however riding style changes when riding strapless. I am finding that with straps I can take a foil out on the river in higher winds and carve the swell
you just can't lock in and carve without straps as well in the swell IMO.
