Bigger fins on Shinnster

Just wondering if anyone has experimented with this board. I recently got one and I instantly fell in love with it. I have very limited experience with directional boards and was wondering if changing the fins would drastically change the performance and carving abilities. I'm riding mostly flat water and small waves. The biggest fins I found online are 100mm OR for the Mako King

I have a homemade DIY version of this board. I use the regular OR mako fins. I tried it one day with the 85mm OR fins -- found it grabbed a bit better on turns, more surfboard-like. However, I really like how the small fins make this board slidey ... fun to carve it hard, unweight, and spin it around. The bigger fins work, but I think I prefer the small fins.

Agree might find it harder to duck tack with more fin!

I put 8cm fins on my Shinnster when I use it in waves => Better carving and driving ability… but still loose and skaty

I tried a set of 9cm surf fins on my BRM Paipo. More grip with the bigger fins but I went back to the stock fins since I thought the board was more fun with the smaller fins. The more I ride it the better I get at carving it.

Ditto what others have said about bigger fins - I tried a bigger pair of surfy fins on my BRM Paipo and found the improvement in tracking was not worth the drag they added, and went back to the pair of typical TT fins I started with.

To validate his theories I have run everything from 15mm to 55mm fins in all shapes and sizes and agree 100% with Mr. Shinn's assessment. It ultimately comes down to what your preference is and what style of kiting you relate most closely too.

Planning to take my Shinnster for a trip to Philippines and want to use it in the surf.
I'd like to test it with a larger set of fins but can't find anything useful.
The Golden Board fins in this thread seems difficult to find.
Anyone knows some fins, preferably in Europe, 70mm-80mm or so? All thruster type fins are without screws it seems... Should I try to find some better washers as well for the increased force?
