Kiting around Venezuela

Postby Noamkatzir » Wed Oct 28, 2015 9:09 pm

Hi all!

I was wondering if anyone knows good places for beginners around Venezuela?
Also, what the wind like this time of the year and what size kite do I need?

Thanks a lot!
Noam

Adicora was very inexpensive and had some beautiful kiting - especially this lagoon called matagorda. There are a couple islands that are apparently great as well. Not sure what the current political situation is though... something you need to look into before going.

I went with Marty who is an awesome guy, his site is http://kite-adic.com/index.html

Enjoy!

Also in the Northeast there is Margarita Island and Coche... Both beautiful places... Playa el Yaque in margarita is probably good to learn. Beware the levels of criminal activity though...

Thanks a lot guys, spots looks amazing but I emailed the instructors and they all say not to go to that area at the moment....
So I guess I'll have to look on other alternatives!
I'm in LA and travelling down to Argentina as my final destination, if you have any other recommendations for any place in central and South America I'll be happy to hear about it! Appreciate it

I dont know personally the situation in venezuela but definitelly I wouldnt go there at the moment. if your final destination is Argentina maybe you could go to NE Brasil( Ceara/ cumbuco, paracuru, jeri) , or SE Brasil( florianopolis, Ibiraquera). also uruguai( Punta del Leste).
there is also Costa Rica( Bahia Salinas and Lake Arenal).i am not familiar with other spots.

Another alternative is Aruba...Pretty much the same conditions as Coche, but a complete different (and safer) country.

I wouldn't recommend Costa Rica for a beginner - notoriously strong winds both at Arenal & Bahia Salinas.

Venezuela is not a safe place to visit at the minute (according to my Venezuelan friend).
