I have found my wave riding skills have helped me progress with my Foilboarding.
Kite skills: looping during transitions, drifting, bar out when riding are similar to foiling.
Also foot movement during transitions.
You could practice all of these skills with the surf set-up if you don't already own a surfboard or are not planning on purchasing a dedicated surfboard.

I went for the Slash, and it is a great board.
The Slash was chosen because you get a waveboard for "free" included in your foilboard.( And it is a proper waveboard, not a surfskate like the LF or Cabrinha foilboards)
I have not ridden the Pocketboard. As far as I can tell, the pocket board has a wider nose which may be better when touching down as a beginner.( I have had no problems learning to foil on the Slash board, but I am used to riding waveboards, so I felt right at home)
I don´t think you can go wrong with either of the boards.
If you only want to use the board for foiling, then choose the Pocket board ( 80 EUR cheaper)
If you want to try some waveriding as well, choose the Slash.
Ulrik.

Yes to the Slash if you also want to go wave riding.
Yes to pocket board if you are only going to use the board with the foil. And want more strap placement options.
Also the Zeeko foil you ordered may have a bearing on your choice. For instance the race wing pretty much says 'pocket board'.

Disagree here
You can ride waves on your hydrofoil equally well with the Slash as well as the Pocket board, they would both work awesome as not too big.
And using the Slash with a race wing is no problem whatsoever (except if you want to race where volume and stiffness is important, but it does not seem like your first priority).
The only thing you have to decide, is whether you want to have a "free" waveboard to use without the foil also, on price of a bit longer learning curve, and a slightly better board in marginal winds if the Pocket board; IMO

Hi
Both pocket and slash boards are foil dedicated.
If it doesn't matter to have only one board, the pocket board is fully designed for hydrofoil use.
For that the scoop is more important, the deck is totally flat for a maximum of confort.
Also the lenght of the board (shorter) gives you less inertia.
Then the choice should be as below:
If you want only one board: go for the slash board
If you want to best for hydrofoil, go for Pocket board.
Ride easy

Its a weird little detail, but having ridden both a standard surfboard domed deck and a perfectly flat deck..... I much prefer flat for foiling.
