When will those one pump hoses go inside the kite. Octopus style?

The octopus naish system is great till you have to repair it. Time consuming, very fidlie and if you have bigs hands forget it!

Until the wind is less than perfect. IMO there are many times where a 5 strut or least a 3 strut kite work better.

Just yesterday with shitty shifty gusty wind all the guys on newer 2 strut and 1 strut kites had a miserable time while me and a friend... both older and bigger..... had a great session, but we were both riding 5 strut kites. W were way upwind while the other guys could not stay upwind, even with a 12m.

In really strong winds I prefer 3 or 5 struts.


Few struts or no struts is more about kite company profit than best handling.

There are likely far more sessions where a 5 strut kite lags behind or simply can't keep it up. One or no struts have earned their place.

We agree on this: Some people like Naish kites with the octopus system but, like all other brands, they aren't universally popular and they aren't for everybody. End of story.

Saw an old video of Robbie Naish a few days ago. Dude could totally rip (both on a windsurfer and a kiteboard).

Hey, my comments in this tread are not exactly "Naish" related, rather how this system works or not.
Brand or product personal choice is something I am not willing to dig in to.

Here are few pics I just made,which I believe worth thousand words.
This is my 8m Torch and furthest to the tip strut (thinnest as possible).

I am not having small hands, and I don't think this is a constraint to fix my kite if necessary.

Main advantage I see with 2 strut or no strut kites is with low wind. Can also help in low winds where most of the time it's rather low wind, but you have to deal with bursts of more wind. Due to the lack of structure you can get more depower when the canopy flutters in the center.

Personally I prefer a kite with more structure as soon as I'm not dealing with low wind.
