Greetings all!

Here in the south-east of England we have been without any wind greater than a gnats fart for the last 2 months!! So I have had enough and have decided to find the wind elsewhere on the planet!! Fuerteventura sounds ideal, can anybody recommend this island for the second week of September, any beaches that are particulary good, any that should be avoided etc? Also any info on accomodation would be greatly appreciated, need to keep this one cheap as I am already getting greif from the woman about going so just a roof over my head may have to do!!!

Cheers,

Coxy

Hi Coxy,

I was there earlier this year and I find it nice, beaches are great but can be VERY gusty.

It's not the cheapest place on Earth to go to but not to bad at all. Another place worth looking into for nice kiteboarding is Egypt and Hurghada. Winds are normally more friendly there.. Check on a package deal with Sportif, that's your best option to keep the cost down.

Cheers,

Miles

In summer it is very gusty there, it will be much better in the north.
But in winter it should be better in the south.
But spring and fall, I have no idea.

Cheers

A guy from the netherlands told me september is great. Much wind like in summer and waves like in winter. I would prefer the north. less wind but good waves in spring and autumn.
Greeetzzzz,

Louis (have been there (north) in March and Mai. March was much better because of the waves.

Fuerte = expensive? no way. The food's great, the people are nice, in summer it's very windy ! You can go to the north of the island (flag beach and/or Cotillo (big waves) or the south (René Egli's pro center). Have fun !

Does anyone know about the conditions in December.

Is the wind reliable for kiteboarding?

Is Sotaventor or Corralejo the preferred spot for December. I am a beginner/intermediate kiter.

Thanks for info.

Hi out there,

as far as i know december is VERY bad for kiting, because passat- winds leave the island for the winter. But you have BIG waves in those months. If you want to have much wind sotavento maybe better (the name means "under the wind"!) because there's alway 1-3 bfts more than in the north. But the wind is always offshore there!
Greeeetzzzz Louis
