Hi Gunnar,

thanks for this nice review and also the other ones.

Maybe you can say some words about warranty and jumping? I would expect such a high stretched front wing can be sensible for high asymmetrical loads during jumping out of the water and also on the landing. Do you know if banga gives warranty also for jumping or in general how banga handles service? They're still just on face bok, no HP?

I am pretty sure that no brand will give a warranty for jumping.

Jumping is not the issue, but bad landings are. No matter how well built the foil, the chance to breaking something on a bad landing is very high.

In regards to Bangas service: For me it has been very good. The return their emails quite quickly. Also Luca Filippi answered any questions I had on finishes and how to improve performance via Facebook.

Anyone know the dimensions for where the tuttle box should be in the board for the Banga foil? and tuttle box to footstrap positions?

Gunnar. I enjoy your reviews a lot and hoping for many more to come in the future. On this one you mentioned race prep for the foil - painting and sanding. can you elaborate more on sanding the trailing edge with 400 grit? What area of trailing edge should be prepped up this way?

Here it also seems the Banga is THE fastest in lighter winds now.

Regarding the sanding grid recommendations borist, I am pretty sure it is not Gunnars recommendations, but the Banga foils, so you wont know.

Quite sure it is their view on what they think works the best, so you should not worry too much but sand the rear part of the wing more coarse than the first half, and you will be fine

Looks like the mast to fuse connection is different to other foils. Are the bolts running up into anchors inside the bottom of the mast? How stiff is this connection and would you worry about hitting the bottom with it?

This is pretty much the way to do a strut/fuselage connection these days with an all carbon foil. Brass barrel nuts are in the strut just like at the top where the Tuttle head fits in the board.

Spotz, Mike's Lab, Delta, JShapes, and probably a few others do it this way

I will answer all questions in one post

@davesails: It should be pretty much in the same place as most race foils. That is about 30 cm from the Tail of the board to the trailing edge of the foil. What is important on the Banga is a wide stance. The front screw of the back strap should be about 5-6cm behind the tuttle back screw. Then the back screws of the front straps should be 60cm from the back strap front screw.


@borist: Here is a pic of what Banga recommends. I did this, and it works very well.

@bigcane: The connection between is pretty much the same as most in that it is a male, female plug system with two M6 screws. I cannot comment to what inserts are inside the mast. It is stiff and I am sure its a very strong connection. I have jumped it quite a few times and so far nothing has broken. Obviously having a contact at speed is a different story, but I am sure that it will probably not fail at the join.

Dude I gota ask...whats it like taking a foil past 40 knots. That would take some serious kahoonas. A foil bomb would be messy.
