The last time I went back on the mono and had some great sessions. Once I managed to enter a tiny bay, with very difficult low wind conditions. So also here there are no limits for the mono.
But much more important after too much waiting time I was able to ride the new Cruizer wing.
First the best of the day:
A friend with 100 kg tried it in the shown combination with the very difficult 94 x 38 cm board. (I have straps on the board to make it easier to find the right side to put the feet, as with the cruizer, which is nearly as big as the board, it could easily be inverted.
After not even 5 minutes he managed to go nearly 100 m stable flight
And he said he wants more ...
So now we are 3 Monofoiler on this planet:
1. Master Phil Caneri from Horue
2. me
3. Mischa from

About the Wing first the disadvantages:
I was hoping the Cruizer would be better in all categories. It is better in general maybe also a lot but not in all categories compared to the smaller Element wing:
- the Cruizer does have a lot less this gentle surfacing as the element has. If you surface to fast some time you crash, not as often as with a normal foil but closer. (Therefore have to stay with a normal strut length)
- has taken a view minutes to get used to, the pressure created feels more violent when getting out of control
= the Cruizer does not feel much more pich stable, on the other hand speed log shows another truth for higher speeds, so at least it has to be bit better.
Improvements
After getting used to, manoeuvres felt a lot better, think especially due to possible lower riding speed when needed. Normaly the micro pocket board is much harder to jibe even if it has the same weight as my other bigger board but on the pocket you miss moment of inertia, when you change feet position. On the end of the day I was better with the micro pocket than I have ever been on the big board:
- Jibes with feet change worked nearly always on the better side
- putting back feet in the strap during flight worked most time
- and finally did 3 full flying tacks
on one side, ... on the end had the feeling flying tacks are easier as you have to change less technic compared to flying jibes.
Unfortunately the wind drops when I wanted to do a video from the manoeuvres. Oh and the back flips are just great, easily to do them agressivly with the foil far above the head out of slow riding speed and to land them always on the wing without touching.
And most important improvement:
Didn't expect have being so "fast" (for a mono) but seem once I passed easily the 30 km/h pretty sure I can even make 35 km/h with better stronger and therefore more stabilizing wind condition. And on the other side the same think I can reach a minimum speed of close to 15 km/h. So we have the big speed window I was always searching for to make the mono 100% perfect for all needs. (apart racing for sure)
So I think I will keep the Cruizer but maybe also the Element. But if you just have the Element, no problem it is not much more difficult, just the minimum speed is higher and therefore you will need a bigger board which is always better.
So who is world monofoiler Nr. 4 ?
