Question for Alpiners

Postby NYKiter » Thu Aug 10, 2017 1:01 am

Just snagged an Alpine Access 5....looks rather impressive...very excited.

Im noticing the multiple galvanic isolators that can change the wing angles. I know stabs should be -2 degrees.
Can some folks comment on the various angles of the wing and stab and their preferences when these are adjusted in combination?

keep the front wing at 0 deg, not sure its really advisable to mess with that one....

i've used 1.1 deg and 0.7 for rear.....1.1 required too much front foot pressure.....0.7 was great for learning transitions as you tend to stay up on the foil better...

i'm back to 0/0 now.....better speed

Agree, dont change the front wing angle.

And Coleman, I assume you are talking about - 1.1 and - 0.7 degree ? (minus and not positive so you are lowering the aoa of the stabilizer)

Meaning the foil gets more stable and you can (have to) move the weight more forward on the foil, and - 1.1 is more stable/uppitching than - 0.7 right ?

Just to avoid confusion, NYKiter also talks about - 2 degrees.

yeah i think it's minus.... -1.1 requires more front foot pressure than -0.7 , especially noticed the faster you go
