Hello ,
I am your weight and used my pulsion 12m with hydrofoil but also small and big light wind TT ( door 160 * 45 as far as I remember) for one year now; here are my low ends with the 12m (wind at 10 -15m height, so you can remove at least 2 knots if measured on the beach):
- foil : 5-6 knots
- Big TT door : easy in 9 knots , extreme low end not tested ; I met a guy on the water with a Speed 3 21m , +10 kg but a even bigger door ( 170) , and I can ride like him if not better with higher speed ; jumps posible at that wind;
- small TT : 129*33 North Xride : 12 knots
-snowkite : 4 knots
Last year I was a bit alone to describe all the good points of this kite and make me believed; now in France, we have plenty of good feedbacks : I am personally aware of about 12 people who tried it, only 2 did not fell in love (one Flysurfer lover and first time he was trying line extensions , while strong wind, the other strutless kite user but he choose the standard cloth instead of light cloth for light wind ...), but all 10 other loved and bought one , considering it is the kite to have in your quiver (except one who has not enough money but would have loved to) ; just to highlight that its all-round performance is appreciated from hyper light wind lovers to waves or hydrofoil or snowkite.
I bought a 15m for extreme light wind records (not a reasonnable gift ...) , maybe I'll try the 15m today with a TT. But the 12m is more all-round at least for hydrofoil. For TT application you could consider the 12 or the 15 IMO, knowing that the low-end is comparable to a bigger kite (+2 m2 , foil or LEI).
