I’m glad we have someone like Toby, someone like Naish, Pete Cab, Bernie Hiss, and so many others, hell I’m even thankful for the genuine trolls on here. It’s all good.
Kite companies will create & follow hypes, it’s inevitable, but it’s up to the individual consumer to make a fad their own or be a copy clown who moreover tries to convince everyone else to copy their chosen fad and then insist on laying down the law. It’s unpleasant. Then some of us try to talk reason, but only get dragged in the shit. And then it gets painful... I’m tired of it...

Its a gear driven business.
We all get very plastic happy when we roll out a crispy kite.
We all get excited to ride a new board.
Ive paddle surfed into waves for over 30 years and I know guys who still paddle out on a board that they have loved for 10 to 20 years....beat up....pressure dented...and patched up like an ugly mess.
Kiters will buy a board based on the ability to resell it.....not to ride it to it's death.
And the riders' constant updating of materials and technology has made kiteboarding much more like mountain biking or snowsports.....buy a new one every year.
Kiteboarding also seems to be more about the gear because of the obvious dangers involved in using 'my ol trusty bar from 2008'.
Everyone wants to know the gear can be ridden hard, slammed in the water, and resold later.
This has made it necessary for the companies to pop out media constantly....to prove their newness....strength...and performance.
But I do agree it seems to be the same edits over an over again....the same moves, hits, and similar scenery.....but only recently with a barrage of drone view images dropped into the edit.
Humans, these days, have very short attention spans.
So yes a pop a whirl a kiteloop and a hard 'knee buckling' landing will always be attractive to the manufacturer and does convince most consumers of the brand's strength and value.

Well, this thread wend exactly where it usually goes around here
No, this one is unique. 2 female kiters going back and fourth almost giving LetsFlyaKite a run for his money on his previously cornered market of tactless mockery.
P.S. Yes, I know I am not innocent. No one is innocent.

And when all else fails, Latino boys beat up on some women to get their frustration out bc the gringos are too big & tough to compete with... figures...

This thread is funny. Kind of like a bunch of dudes arguing over which type of porn they prefer but then getting all intellectual in debating the merits. It's porn! Comes down to personal preference for what floats the boat.
Spinny tricksterism is not my cup of tea. I fast forward those parts of the videos . I recognize the skill but find it boring to watch. Same thing in surfing, skateboard, snowboarding, spastic gyrating was the thing for a while but then evolved to more appreciating fewer big moves done with more style.
I often forward kite videos to non kiting friends. Mostly surfers. They generally comment that the wake style stuff is quickly tiresome to watch ... but they are older surfers who find that kind of surfing to be aesthetically displeasing too. Probably prefer classic porn too.

I apologize for the way I have angered you. There must be some really bad things in your past to harbor that kind of hate for a race and a sex. I hope you will work out your issues one day. A good start would be to judge people based on their merits, not their group affiliation or race. I know many good people of Latino, Spanish, Caribbean, and South American decent who are kind people who would never hurt you. I am positive all of those acquaintances would be appalled by whatever happened to you to make you feel the way you do.
I, however, am of north eastern European decent and not in any way Latino nor do I speak Spanish. Matteo is the nickname that a Bolivian friend of mine calls me. My disassociation from the group your comments target gives me little comfort as I must apologize for your comments to many of the people who I kite with. Though I do not judge based on group affiliation or race, I know that many human beings on this earth do have that flaw and that this mentality is the current trend. So to anyone who would group me in the same group or race as DWX, I apologize for her comments.

You can move to Cuba! Or California... or Hawaii... it’s all the same racket these days; you might find them congenial
Tired of whiners fixing a world that’s beautiful as is & doesn’t need fixing

I love getting lectured on morals by hypocrites.... I’m clean as an angel. You posted a mysogenist comment... they didn’t teach you anything in Eastern Europe?

Could you lay out what you interpreted as misogynist or hypocritical in my comments? But foremost, is that you would have to accuse me of lying about my beliefs to not judge someone based on their group affiliation, in order for me to actually be mysogynist - having hate for a group of humans categorized as being female.
Or is that accusation just your desperate rebuttal for getting called out on your sexist and racist comment that:
