I think, that the board is different because of width. You get a stable board with great up wind performance. The board is very stiff, but you still get a very smooth ride and very soft landings, wich probalby have something to do with the width and the concav. The stiffness of the board gives you a great pop.

For me the wide stance also gives a better pop and more control in turns. And because of the width I'm able to ride in 11-12knots with a 12m2 kite.

It can deliver some spray at times, but nothing sigificant. I think it's doing great in chop in general. The rider has a more rounded rail and won't spray at all. But then you also get a little less pop (very little). I like the comp much better than the rider. It's a perfect board for me...

I ride both the 127's and must say I seem to be spending more time on the wider one and too be honest has almost become a 1 board quiver, well along with the D Wave. The board has great control and loads up nicely with plenty of pop, you will love it.

I do not know your bodyweight en length.
But i'm 90 kg and my length is 1.93 cm.
My kites are the 10m2 and 14m2 (2008) Thrusters
I have tested the 127x42 (ride) and the 131x40(competition)
I like the 131x40 best.
Because of the longer rail, wide stance and 90 D rail the board has insane pop

I felt the 127x42 had sometimes the tendency to dive a little bit.
If you like wake style moves the 127x42 is the board for you....

In my case the 131x40 is the perfect board for 1 board quiver :thumb:

After testing both boards i got me the 131x40 comp (no way)

wow I am exactly the same height and weight. Im happy you posted, you have made my decision making much easier. I do like wakestyle, sadly I am not very good at it (still cannot do aerial handlepass). I do love huge airs, and I sometimes ride in lighter conditions, so it looks like the 131 will be the one board quiver for me as well. Thank you so much

yes i rode this board for 3 days at the kite expo 189 lb rider

the wide stance is different but once you make a pass or two its good- real good

this board is a freestyle board, the wide 42cm width is there for a reason. If you are like me and are aggressively trying to be even a fraction of the rider Dimitri is you will appreciate the width for landing things you just could not with other boards.

i rode the board in the worlds worse chop-La ventanna bay and still had a great time.

i think this design is best suited for crap conditions where it is windy but not smoking, where there is chop but not glass flat water ( if there was you could ride a skinny board and feel like a pro).

the wide board allows you to pull tricks at slower speeds which is good for learning most moves.

i have mine ordered
