Look at this video at 20:30

Lagoa do Cauipe turned in to a tidal lagoon. The lagoon made an opening to sea, all water drained from the lagoon..
They have to put more beach/sand between the sea and the lagoon.

Hope they will fix it......or hoping this is not recent a video.

Toby, can you confirm that the lagoon broke through towards the sea ?.

Talked to some friends who are here since many years and kite as well…never experienced wind like that.

We assume it depends on air a bit colder than usual, and wet land. This why thermals don’t kick in and make the wind direction switch.

We will see what happens the next days, forecast is perfect, besides the direction…if it stays dry, we could have our wind back…

Stay tuned

just checked forecast for Prea, where I hope to spend some time in Oct / Nov, and looks excellent, already 20 knots base / gusts ~25 for most of the days in afternoon

Yes, winds are getting better now….wind switches to easterly, but only good for one hour at the moment.
But still some wind for more time.

Forecast looks good daily now, so no worries !

although forecast is great, and still is not there yet...wind comes late, and not really strong. Still too much south in the wind direction...

Its also like this in dom republic. I dont know if its from same circumstances since here the wind is from the hurricane belt but since june wind is light and lots of days of clouds that kill the wind.
April and may were perfect but june july has been a dissapointment..

And April May is normally not that great in Cabarete...but a friend of mine was there that time, every day good wind...

Let's hope on August, which I heard then it should turn back to normal...I need to move on to reach my big goal still this year.... 🙃
