Anyone have any info on kiteboarding Sunset Beach, NC? Looks to be about 15mi north of North Myrtle Beach and about 50mi south of Wilmington, NC. We'll be heading up there late May for a week family reunion and staying beachfront. Planning on bringing my kites (15/12/9) and want to know if there are any restrictions or such? Anyone kite the inlet between Sunset Beach, NC and Ocean Isle Beach, NC? Looks like it would be great on outgoing tide with a m opposing S/SE wind.
Any insights appreciated!

That's likely a good location for May. The SW winds will start kicking in with nice side-on conditions. Because of the sand bars near the inlet, it may be better to ride on either side of the inlet on and in between the sand bars, which would also keep you out of the strongest current.
Here's a live web cam from a house on the island...

Kite forum "spots" has nothing for this area and Google has almost nothing as well. Myrtle Beach has designated kite areas so curious how Sunset Beach is.
The beach / inlet should be quiet so I'll pack gear and ride away from crowds. Again, any info is welcome
