How big of a problem is this? (Cut in plastic cover of flag line, Core)

Discovered this after my session in Cape Town yesterday.
It is a cut of about 25 mm.
Obviously sand will get into that and could cut against the line.
What would you do?
I dont have technical knowledge when it comes to bars.

Difficult to say from that photo. But the questions I would be asking myself are:

1. Can I see any evidence of damage to the rope inside. Or more importantly - Can I see that there is NO damage to the internal rope (ie the rope is definitely undamaged)
2. Is there ANY danger of the bar sticking when I try and push the bar out to depower.

Better to replace parts early than take a risk. Lines on your bar are consumable items and should be replaced over time anyway.

Any tips on who could fix this in Blouberg?
Will try to get duct tape asap, Toby, did not bring that.
And thanks for the tips, Nothing2seehere.

Definitely check all the rope inside. If the plastic is not removable then cut the plastic off so that you can see if there is any damage.

I came back from Barbados last week and over weeks the sand destroyed my trim lines so I spliced some new ones today. My trim lines are not plastic covered so that I can see when they're damaged.

Just tape it?
Might stop more sand getting in, but how much is already inside?

Try to rinse it if you can, afterward tape it.

you will have to replace the plastic PU line asap.
I had it snapped even w/o any visual warnings... once the sand is in you can start countdown counter.

Might tape that superior premium German quality bargrip too while you're at it.

You must be happy to see a Core thread pop up the day your's got locked

Bernie......He is making sense

Find a dealer where you are or order the part because it is not safe
There is a saying...if you think it is time to replace a part...it's because it is !!!..... and that goes for any brand out there

Which one is it ?
