what would be a proper umbrellas quiver for a 200 lbs rider riding only in narrow wind range of 6-49 knots?

Mary Poppins only weighs 55kg, and she could use it up to 200knots in a tornado!

200knots is way beyond human body terminal velocity, so umbrella wasn’t needed and must have been just mere product placement. Being old story I’m wondering why she didn’t smoke all the time either to prop tobacco industry products too.

while its universally accepted that the umbrella is the undisputed king of sup foilsurfing with wind assistance fun...
...i believe the new inflatable pineapples have potential.

while it may lack the higher speed stability of an umbrella(or even a carrot)
...the low end of a pineapple is really impressive.

it has the potential to be the next big thing...

After watching this, all I do is dream about wingsurfing now.

True its blowing 35 knots
True Nathan is an insanely proficient foiler---and is definitely not 200 lbs.
But it was fun to see this....The wing looks remarkably stable in that intense cape town wind.

You can have so much more fun with a kite in 30 knots. I guess guys should try windsurfing. Next low is what, hanging on the beach and playing volleyball? Well, volleyball is an Olympic sport, wohoo

Riding surfboard with straps on a flat? Really? Oh, that’s because your hands are unnecessarily full with mediocre toy, dude. As people with automatic transmission say - there are better things to put you hands on

I hope someone rode nearby and boosted 40 footers to make that ride feel like complete waste of time.

Give me kitewing when it blows 4 knots and I’m not logged in to work saving my vacation hours for when it blows. But if anyone in their right mind considers this as a valid alternative in 30 knots than I want to know how you got there so I don’t make same choices by mistake

It is just a kid showing the potential for the wing to hold a lot of wind.

Take a deep breath.
Its just a fun toy to play with.
Egos don't need to be threatened.
You don't have to worry about it taking attention away from you on the beach.
It will be ok guys.

I saw those guys out on Rietvlei today in a NW, three of them, but I'm guessing that video is from Thursday when it blew harder. They seemed to struggle a bit today in 15 knots. Rietvlei is out of bounds for kites, but the windsurfers who enjoy flat water love it. You can see the Marine Road highway in the background, and 100 yards further is the ocean where I was doing downwinders both days on 7 and 9m kites.

What bugs me is a recent feedback on how much R&D it took to design these. It’s an inflatable mattress with handles, which you need to hold all the time. Somebody should attach webbing straps to a $25 inflatable pool from Walmart and ride it.

As I said before these make good kids beach toys and SUP sail for extreme lightwind days. But in no world it should be more expensive that a cot or inflatable pool or a backpack. What a ripoff
