New Quiver

Postby ExeMark » Wed Jul 10, 2019 4:49 pm

Hi I’m looking at updating my quiver which is currently a flexi ion5 10.5, mutiny s seris 8m and 6m. I’ve not really kept up to speed with changes in kites the brands I’ve got have sadly vanished, so looking for advice. Firstly my local spot has change from a surf spot to a more flat water / chop spot so takes me away from the s-series type kite.

I like the general feel of the ion most good constant power and more aggressive feel than the of the ion compared to the mutiny.

I’ll be using mainly for freeride, bit of freestyle and then whenever I get the chance wave. Ideally i’d to cover full wind range from 10 to 35+ knots (not foiling) on a new 3 kite quiver.

Been looking at Evo, Dice, Bandit, FS Stoke and Airush Union, any advice on these or other kites appreciated.

How much do you weigh, and what size twintips do you ride?

If you're 200 lbs and ride regular twintip only then I'd say 8/11/14 or 9/12/15 is the quiver for Rally/Turbine line

On lower end - 14m Rally for "less than whitecaps" more of fun ride, and 15m Turbine will cover <10 knots too but would be less fun

Union is probably the best of that bunch for you. Very punchy kite. After that maybe the Dice or the Stoke. Evo is a great kite, but might feel a little tame to you.

Where are you based? When I got my quiver of Dice kites, I put my 12-9-7 quiver of 2016/2017 Best TS kites in storage. Would be happy to sell a fellow forum member the quiver. TS is a lot like the Dice, but I fell in love with the Dice after flying one in Cape Town.

If you're looking for something aggressive and punchy with a very direct feel, Naish Dash should be on your shortlist. Not ideal for waves though...

Let me know if you're interested in selling your mutiny kites.

Cheers
