Don't worry, we're pretty close to sustainable fusion power...
There isn't any Radioactive Waste , produced in fusion ; is there ?
But Dang , (if something screws-Up) the reaction could turn Earth
into another small sun ! :o

Now that would really be global warming.. :D

Also, back jn the day, early 2000s, on Kitesurfingschool website, it was suggested to fill up a kite with helium to prevent a kite from Hindenburging. Nobody did it until now, that I know of. It would definitely be interesting to see if it makes a difference filling a foil kite with helium, if it could contain it without leaking and retain its shape.

I'll admit, I had the same thought about the global helium supply. But I realized, they acquired the helium legally through an industrial source, it's not like they stole it.

Don't hate the player, hate the game!

Other than that, it's solid proof that no one needs to waste their time trying it.

man, you did not attend physics at school and college
most of the problems with fusion as power source, is that it does not seem to scale down well from stellar masses..
it occurs naturally in stars but we have to go through a shitload of gimmicks to reproduce it on smaller scale..
Yes, we know how to do a big bang "Tsar bomba" stuff.. but there is no way it can go off as a runaway reaction.

Yeah, nothing quite as dangerous is produced as what you get out of fission reactions, and the potential for a fusion process to blow up in a world-ending way is essentially negligible. The reactors are hot as the sun, sometimes much hotter, but they don't create a runaway chain reaction that causes a catastrophic explosion. Even if they did, all you'd leak out is plasma which isn't inherently dangerous, besides the fact that it's 10 times hotter than the surface of the sun.
